It was cold and windy night, the sound of rain drops bang against the windows, as naturally, the rain falls sideways in Port Elizabeth. I put on my jacket, (not the brown one), and left for a local garage ( gas station to all the americans) to collect on a few small supplies that would keep me going through the night. My car sped steadily at 30-40km/h as my vision of the road resembled something to that of staring into a blender with the lid off. Basically couldnt see jack shit, the rain was in every direction, the wind pulling my car from side to side.
The damage : Floods in most parts of PE, with alot of uprooted trees, cars washed away, tensile structures and parking shades torn down and mangled. The following days would experiance a series of power cuts varing and lasting as long as from morning till about 1am. The dams and water supply facilities for PE were also damaged, as the water supply for the next week or so was dirty and brown in colour.
Anyway, so here are the pics...
